Surrounded by l'art de vivre, (the art of living) the idea was born in 2007 to organise an event that would be unique and memorable. A moment where people could truly enjoy an exceptional experience, together in good company, sharing excellent food, wine and culture and held in the wonderful legend and luxury Sofitel hotel in Amsterdam.

Great chefs , (Tamers of ranges) crowned with Michelin stars, are artists in gastronomy. They excel in their field like other famous artists. You travel with them on a journey of discovery of flavours. Their passion and soul are the secrets that you will discover in their culinary presentation !

But gastronomy offers more. Gastronomy means conviviality in a world where every moment matters. It brings people and cultures closer together.

It also offers a crucible for creativity, understanding and co-operation. Last but not least, gastronomy and other art expressions reinforce and inspire each other.

The initiative was taken by Lise Goeman Borgesius, author and culinary journalist and the management of Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand. Their common goal was to combine know-how, creativity and facilities to organise an event where culture, food, wine and art are united.

Autour de l'art de vivre, est née l'idée d'organiser un événement qui se voudrait unique et mémorable. Un moment rare, où l'on pourrait vivre une expérience exceptionnelle, en agréable compagnie, partageant une culture, des vins, des mets à nuls autres pareils. Les grands chefs (Dompteurs des Fourneaux) consacrés par des étoiles Michelin, sont des artistes de la gastronomie. Ils excellent dans leur discipline comme d'autres artistes renommés. Avec eux, partez à la découverte des saveurs.
Cherchez à percer leur passion, les secrets de leurs âmes, et tout ce qui inspire si subtilement leurs présentations culinaires.

Mais la gastronomie, c'est bien plus que cela. C'est la mise en œuvre d'un esprit de convivialité dans un monde où tout moment se doit d'être idéal. Elle rassemble les gens et les cultures. Elle est le terreau de la créativité, de la coopération, de la compréhension.
La gastronomie épouse toutes les autres formes d'art dans un mouvement d'inspiration mutuelle.

Cette initiative, nous la devons a Lise Goeman Borgesius, auteur et journaliste culinaire et au management de l'hôtel Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand et qui ont souhaité combiner savoir-faire, créativité et les facilités pour organiser un événement sans égal, mariant avec bonheur, la gastronomie, l'art et les vins.
